Swinging Into STEM

OUR MISSION

Founded in 2026, Swinging into STEM is an initiative dedicated to fostering an inclusive space where female-presenting individuals can confidently enter traditionally male-dominated fields like engineering. By actively challenging stereotypes and reducing financial barriers, we strive to advance our overarching mission: cultivating an equitable, empowering, and accessible educational environment for individuals of all backgrounds at little to no cost of entry.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

My name is Gabrielle. I am currently a senior in high school, a Girl Scout Ambassador, and the team President of the Apes of Wrath. Since I was young, I have always had a passion for STEM, however, I did not always feel represented or included in these fields as a female-presenting person. Today, I strive to be the role model I once needed, sharing the joy I discovered in STEM with young girls through an engaging and inclusive LEGO robotics summer camp. As part of my Girl Scout Gold Award Project, I started Swinging into STEM to introduce more girls to engineering at an earlier age. Ultimately, I hope to encourage more young women to pursue this field of study and to cultivate a culture in which young girls feel confident claiming their place in STEM.
